An anti-violence activist, Sheldon Johnson, 48, is facing a murder charge after the dismembered body of Collin Small, 44, was discovered in a Bronx home.

Police confirmed the grim find of Small's cut-up remains inside an apartment on Summit Ave., near Yankee Stadium.

Johnson, who had spent 25 years in proson for a robbery conviction before delving into advocacy, was arrested on Thursday in connection with Small's death.

The investigation into the discovery of Small's headless torso led authorities to Johnson, who had made an appearance on Joe Rogan's podcast following his release from prison the year before, as reported by the New York Daily News.

Johnson attracted significant attention beyond just his appearance. He, along with his father Sheldon Johnson Sr. and his son, were featured in a Buzzfeed News article titled "Three Sheldons," which explored their family's pattern of incarceration across generations.

Expressing his concerns to Buzzfeed, the middle Johnson shared, "One of my biggest fears is growing old and ending up alone in prison, dying there."

Although police lacked specific information about the events that occurred inside the Summit Avenue apartment on Tuesday, witnesses in the building reported hearing gunshots early in the morning, as per the Daily News.

Following a review of video surveillance footage from the building, it was observed that a man, seen wearing various disguises including a blond wig, was repeatedly moving garbage bags and containers in and out of the elevator throughout the day.

During a wellness check at 8:25 p.m. that same day, law enforcement discovered the dismembered body of Small.
