FRANKLINTON, La. — The James Heyward Ard Chapter of the National Honor Society at Franklinton High School collected more than 600 food items for the Washington Parish Food Bank, demonstrating significant community support and student initiative.

The collection, which included rice, peanut butter, macaroni and cheese, and tuna, was part of a drive to combat local food insecurity. The items were delivered to the food bank on Tuesday, ready for distribution to those in need within the community.

The effort was led by National Honor Society officers Madelyn Magee, Audrey Carter, Olivia Reed, Rebecca Ginn, Hannah Yarbrough, and Mattie Claire Smith. Their leadership and commitment were instrumental in the success of the food drive, reflecting the school’s dedication to community service.

The Washington Parish Food Bank, benefiting from the drive, serves as a crucial resource for families facing food scarcity in the area.
