FREDERICK, Md. ( DC News Now ) — To help educate current and future generations about the unforgettable wars that the United States was involved in, one Frederick veteran advocate has created a museum that showcases and celebrates those who fought for our country.

“Frederick has a lot of history with the civil war, but we don’t have much on the other conflicts, which occurred during the 20th century, so what we’re planning will be called the Frederick Military Museum of the 20th century,” Priscilla Rall said.

Rall grew up hearing the stories of her father being a doctor in the military, which sparked her interest in hearing other veteran stories.

That’s when the idea to make the Frederick Military Museum came into play.

“I realized I’m sitting on a goldmine,” Rall said. “These interviews are just phenomenal, and they speak to a lot of conflicts that come from those soldiers or the marines, or the sailor’s point of view.”

Over the last 10 to 20 years, Rall has collected memorabilia and done interviews with different veterans that will be showcased at the Veterans Service Center.

“This is something where people can come with families, and honor our veterans,” Rall explained. “We want to honor those who served, those who fought, and those who died.”

Rall hopes to move the museum to its own separate location so that people can learn from the veteran’s past to change their future.

“A lot of things that are happening now today can be better understood going back, Rall said.
