XC: South Dakota Opens Cross Country Season With Home Meet
VERMILLION, S.D. — The cross country teams opened their season on home grounds with the Coyote Classic, featuring the SDSU Jackrabbits and the Mount Marty Lancers. Returner, Madison Brouwer (So.), lead the women's pack through the course with the help of Alexis Pagel (So.). Brouwer had an impressive night as she held her position throughout the race, placing first with a time of 18:14. Pagel came in as a close second with a time of 18:29.

20th Ribs, Rods, And Rock ‘N Roll Happens Next Weekend
And just like that – next weekend will mark the 20th annual Ribs, Rods, and Rock ‘n Roll event in Vermillion. What started as a fun festival to pay homage to Vermillion’s forefathers, who themselves celebrated harvest completion with barbeque cooked over corn cobs in hand-dug pits, has grown into a large community celebration featuring lots of food, fun, and festivities for all.
