Soccer Game Preview: Salem Leaves Home
Salem is 1-9 against Silver Creek since September of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Salem Lions are on the road again to play the Silver Creek Dragons at 11:00 a.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

PEKIN — Visiting Clarksville picked up its first win of the season, defeating Eastern 4-1 Wednesday afternoon. The Generals tallied two points in singles and two more in doubles. Jaxson Brooks led the way for Clarksville with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Anthony Schear at No. 1 singles while Tavien Utrera outlasted Boone Miller 7-5, 7-6 (7-2) at No. 3. In doubles, Drake Rupprecht and Jeremiah Freeman rallied to defeat Hayden Lewis and Keaton Brown 5-7, 7-5, 10-7 at No. 1 while Peyton Wacker and Dominic Popham triumphed 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2. Football Recap: Scottsburg Falls Despite Big Games from Nathan Byrd and Matthew Wickey
Scottsburg's game on Friday was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a hard 29-14 fall against the North Harrison Cougars. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.
