This year’s event will take place from Thursday through Saturday, June 15-17. <nbtemplate data-id="AdPlaceholder" data-content="JTdCJTdE"></nbtemplate> On Thursday night, festivities will kick off with a free slack rodeo at 8 p.m. Food, beer and wine will be available for purchase on the grounds. Following the rodeo, the Wagon Aces will perform. Activities will resume on Friday, June 16, with the gates opening at 6 p.m. along with open registration for the Mutton Bustin’ competition. Mutton Bustin’ requires a $30 entry fee, a 60-lb. weight limited and is limited to the first 50 contestants. The first heat of Mutton Bustin’ will take place at 6:45 p.m. and the 2nd heat during the rodeo performance. At 7:30 p.m. the current Peach Queen contestants will be introduced. The contestant lineup this year includes McKaela Crenwelge, Rylie Schneider, Jackie Sanz, Annaliese Munoz, Estrella Huitron, Natalie Bermudez, Callie McKinzie, Lacie Fikes, Valeria Ramirez, Victoria Victorica and Ava Jenschke. <nbtemplate data-id="AdPlaceholder" data-content="JTdCJTdE"></nbtemplate> The CPRA Rodeo by DVS Productions will begin at 8 p.m. with a calf scramble, mutton bustin’ and a specialty act. At 10 p.m. live music and a dance will take place with music by Texas-based performer Roger Creager. Saturday will feature a full day of activities, beginning with a parade at 10 a.m. Parade line up begins at 7 a.m. Two rodeo events will take place in the morning, 3W goat roping at 10:30 a.m. followed by roping at 11 a.m. Also at 11 a.m., the Peach Patch kids’ area will open on the Stonewall Elementary School grounds. At 10:45 a.m. judging begins for the preserve and salsa contests, followed by barbecue and side items available for purchase on the grounds of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church at 11 a.m. <nbtemplate data-id="AdPlaceholder" data-content="JTdCJTdE"></nbtemplate> Live music will be provided by Madison Rodges at 11 a.m. Afternoon games and activities include a 42-domino tournament from 1-3 p.m., a washer pitching tournament at 1 p.m. ($25 entry fee), the peach show and judging at 1 p.m., a peach eating contest and peach pit spitting contest at 2 p.m., Peach Queen contestant interviews at 3 p.m. and a peach show and baking auction at 4 p.m. Evening entertainment will continue Saturday with the first heat of mutton bustin’ taking place at 6:45 p.m., recognition of the 2023 Stonewall Chamber of Commerce scholarship recipients at 7:15 p.m. and the coronation of the 2023 Peach Queen and Court taking place at 7:30 p.m. At 8 p.m., the CPRA rodeo by DVS Productions will continue. Following the rodeo, a dance will take place with live music by Kevin Fowler.
