    FPD: Fredericksburg man charged after police seized cocaine, marijuana, $17k, gun during drug investigation

    FREDERICKSBURG, Va. ( DC News Now ) — Fredericksburg police said a man was taken into custody after authorities seized several drugs including half a kilo of cocaine during an extensive investigation.

    According to the Fredericksburg Police Department ( FPD ), on July 10 multiple agencies including the FBI Fredericksburg Regional Narcotics Task Force arrested 28-year-old Tai’eric Lewis, of Fredericksburg, on drug-related crimes.

    Police said while investigating the distribution of cocaine in the community, they served two search warrants at homes in Fredericksburg and another warrant at a home in Spotsylvania County. During this time, FPD said they discovered the following:

    • About half a kilo of cocaine
    • About $17,000
    • Three pounds of marijuana
    • Stolen firearm
    • Distribution paraphernalia

    Lewis’s vehicle was also seized by the FPD, according to police.

    Police charged Lewis with distribution/sell for profit schedule I/II, distribution/PWI marijuana, and two counts of abuse/neglect of child: reckless disregard for life.

    As of Tuesday morning, the FPD said additional charges against Lewis were pending.
