    Officers find machete, drugs after police chase in Fredericksburg

    FREDERICKSBURG, Va. ( DC News Now ) — A man was arrested after he allegedly led Fredericksburg officers on a chase into Spotsylvania County, according to police.

    The Fredericksburg Police Department (FPD) said that on July 5, officers noticed a man get out of a car in the 2000 block of Carl D. Silver Parkway.

    Police said when the man, identified as 33-year-old Scott Lundy, noticed the officers he got into the car and drove away.

    After running the tags, officers discovered the car’s registration was invalid. Police said they attempted to complete a traffic stop on River Road, but Lundy refused to stop.

    The pursuit continued into Spotsylvania County where deputies deployed spike strips, according to police.

    While searching the car, police said they found a concealed machete and illegal drugs.

    Lundy was arrested and charged with the following:

    • Carrying a concealed weapon
    • Eluding
    • Driving on a revoked driver’s license

    He was held at the Rappahannock Jail on a $1,500 bond. FPD said additional charges against Lundy are pending.
