    Two Virginians killed in plane crash in Long Island, according to AP

    RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Two Virginians are dead after a plane crash in Long Island, New York, according to the Associated Press .

    AP reported that 46-year-old Christopher Kucera of Fredericksburg and 43-year-old Zachary Hatcher of King George died on Monday, July 22, after the single-engine Beechcraft Bonanza A36 plane they had just taken off in crashed.

    Kucera, who was flying the plane, is said to have tried to return to the runway after takeoff, according to AP. Both men, who were the only people on board, died at the scene.

    The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating this incident, AP reports.
