    Teen dies in Morrow County crash

    CHESTER TOWNSHIP, Ohio ( WCMH ) — A teenager is dead after a single-vehicle crash in Chester Township, Morrow County, Saturday night.

    According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) Mt. Gilead Post, Brandon Campbell, 16, of Fredericktown, was driving a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee north on County Road 194 near County Road 21 in Chester Township at approximately 11:48 p.m.

    The Jeep drove off the right side of the road, hitting a tree and flipping over, police said. Campbell, who police said wasn’t wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was pronounced dead at the scene.

    Police said drugs or alcohol did not play a role in the crash.

    OSHP was assisted at the scene by the Fredericktown EMS, Big Walnut Fire Department, Morrow County EMS, and the Morrow County Coroner’s Office.
