Hays USD 489 BOE members tour new high school site
Hays USD 489 school board members and members of the public toured the construction site for the new Hays High School on Aug. 5. The school is part of $143 million in bond projects. The new high school, located adjacent to the current high school on 13th Street, is scheduled to be completed by fall 2025.

USD 428 putting two Great Bend properties up for bid
Getting some property back on the county tax rolls. USD 428 announced Monday night that two of its properties are up for bid with a third to be on the market later this fall. Kevin Sundahl with Sundahl Appraisal Services appraised the former district building at 201 S. Patton Road in Great Bend and the former central kitchen building at 2201 Broadway Ave. Superintendent Khris Thexton said the surplus property can now be sold.
