Hazlet: Recreation Facility Concept Plan Includes Grant Funded Amenities for Residents.
HAZLET, NJ: Utilizing grants and low interest rate loans, the governing body in Hazlet has made much needed improvements over the last few years, providing great amenities for its residents. Among them to highlight a couple: The 8th Street Park Improvement Plan that transformed 8th Street Park into a multi-faceted park for all children called Freedom Park. It opened in October 2023. Six Pickleball courts and two Tennis Courts were installed in Veterans Park in July 2023. MIDDLETOWN - Party Fair is bringing the party to the Bottle King shopping center on Route 35. Its lease not renewed, Party Fair, a discount retailer of party supplies, is moving from Middletown Plaza, a shopping center on Route 35, to the Bottle King shopping center at the corner of Route 35 and New Monmouth Road.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ: The Middletown Township Police Department this month held two graduations for their Summer 2024 Police Youth Week Camps. Mercer County Parks Hosts “Trenton Talks Basketball Tournament”, Drawing Over 250 Residents
Mercer County Park hosted the first Trenton Talks Basketball Tournament, with a portion of all proceeds going to benefit Trenton’s A Better Way foundation. The tournament brought out over 250 residents from Trenton and surrounding communities. 12 basketball teams competed for top honors. There was also a double-dutch jump rope contest, judged by Skil-Lit Café Owners Robert Wilborn and Dionna Maldonado.
Woodbridge unveils plan to stop 'loud and smelly' freight trails from idling in town
WOODBRIDGE – Some long-awaited peace and quiet may be coming to Port Reading neighborhoods near Conrail lines where freight trains idle for extended periods of time. The township has filed a request with the state Department of Environmental Protection to dispose of a one-acre portion of the Green Aces-encumbered old Bowtie Pool property, now the Cypress Recreation Center, to transfer the land to Conrail for the construction of a track and two new switches, according to public documents.
