    Fremont police say felon out on bail killed girlfriend

    ( KRON ) – A felon out on bail for attempted murder has been arrested for suspicion of murder of his girlfriend, according to Fremont Police Department.

    Fremont police officers responded to Lake Arrowhead Avenue and Alvardo Boulevard regarding a shooting at 8:55 p.m. on Saturday. Police located a woman who sustained a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

    The Fremont Police Department Crimes Against Persons Unit assumed control of the investigation. According to police, the evidence led the unit to 38-year-old Hayward resident Krishan Sharma as the suspect.

    Police said Sharma and the victim were in a relationship when he killed the victim.

    3 Fremont homicides in July prompts police statement

    On Monday, officers located Sharma when he was driving his car. The suspect did not yield and a short pursuit ensued, according to Fremont PD.

    Sharma was arrested for suspicion of murder and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. According to Fremont PD, Sharma was out on bail for attempted murder and assault with a semi-automatic firearm at the time of the homicide.

    This was the second homicide in Fremont on Saturday, July 20.
