As of July 1, the Florence-Penrose School District has officially welcomed its new superintendent to Fremont County. Dr. Bill Wilson was chosen in March as the prime candidate after the district hosted a candidate forum and replaced Dr. Brenda Krage, who retired at the end of the 2023-24 school year.

The man, who was in his mid-30s, was with six others tubing on the Arkansas River a few miles upstream from their camping site. They were going to tube back to their campsite, which was on private land, CPW said in a news release.
