Groveland, CA — Groveland native Sagen Maddalena will compete in three shooting competitions at the Summer Olympic Games in Paris. The opening ceremony kicks things off this evening and the first shooting competitions commence on Saturday. Maddalena, 30, is a sergeant in the US Army Marksmanship Unit. The daughter of Randy and Susan Maddalena, she first became interested in shooting through the local 4-H program. Later she went on to compete with one of the top rifle collegiate programs in the country at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks.

Sharmell Mitchell, the oldest sister of Willie McCoy, died last week as the result of a collision that occurred as she fled a shooting in central Vallejo. Officers responded to the intersection of Tennessee Street and Vervais Avenue at about 12:36 p.m. last Tuesday following reported gunshots, police said. So much so that $1 million is the norm for a starter home in hundreds of cities," said Orphe Divounguy, a senior economist at Zillow. "However, it's looking more and more like there will be some good news ahead for first-time buyers.
