A few showers and storms can’t be ruled out by the lakeshore through the day Tuesday, but it will be mainly warm and humid. Temperatures are forecast to be in the upper-80s with heat indexes in the lower-90s. Overnight showers and storms southwest of Toledo are likely with temperatures dropping to the lower-70s. The muggy conditions continue through Wednesday, but with extra heat and more sun, afternoon heat indexes climb to the middle to upper 90s. With the later half of the week being extra hot and humid, any scattered storms could be strong, especially late Thursday.
Hot, stormy weather pattern sets up over Metro Detroit
The dry weather is coming to an end. Muggier air and rain showers will make their way to Metro Detroit. Clouds will increase over Southeast Michigan on Sunday night. A couple of widely scattered showers are possible overnight and mainly after 2 a.m. Temperatures will only fall to around 70 degrees for most of the area. Lows will be in the lower 70s in Detroit, upper 60s in Ann Arbor, and mid 60s in Port Huron. Winds will be southerly around 5 mph to calm.
