Fresno State: Possible Transfers to Watch

With Jeff Tedford stepping down due to health concerns, Fresno State players have a 30-day window to enter the transfer portal. Numerous players will be contacted by other schools with the hope that they make themselves available, but here are the five who will draw the most interest:

WR Jalen Moss

The skinny: If a school is looking for a young receiver who looks ready to break out, then Moss may be their answer. He redshirted in 2022 and then in his first full season in 2023 he totaled 55 receptions for 706 yards and six touchdowns. Now a year more mature and with 15 pounds of additional muscle, Moss looks poised for an even bigger season.

DT Jacob Holmes

The skinny: Playmaking interior defensive linemen will always draw portal attention. And Holmes would get plenty of it after finishing his 2023 sophomore season with 17 tackles, seven tackles for a loss and a team leading five sacks. At 6-foot-3, 300-pounds, the Arizona native is an intriguing lineman who has the potential to further improve his game in 2024.

OL Mose Vavao

The skinny: Having played since his true freshman season, Vavao has started the last 42 games with the Bulldogs, mostly at right guard. A multi-season All-Mountain West performer, he enjoyed his best season in 2023, when he was the only guard in the conference to play more than 650 snaps and not have a penalty called on him. This is the type of experience and performance that would quickly garner plenty of interest.

CB Cam Lockridge

The skinny: After starting his collegiate career at a junior college, Lockridge spent two seasons at Hawaii before transferring to Fresno State. He excelled during his first season with the Bulldogs, finishing with 39 tackles, three tackles for a loss, five interceptions and nine pass breakups, before only playing in four games last season due to a pectoral muscle injury. Now healthy, he is ready to regain his 2022 form.

DE Devo Bridges

The skinny: Bridges began to hit his stride in 2022 with 30 tackles, five tackles for a loss and two sacks, before becoming one of the top defensive ends in the Mountain West last season with 51 tackles, eight tackles for a loss and 3.5 sacks. While he saw all of his time at defensive end in 2023, he also showed his versatility in 2022 by playing every position on the line. At 6-foot-2 and 255-pounds, he is powerful, athletic and just beginning to reach his potential.
