FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – COVID-19 wastewater levels are ‘high’ and continue to climb in the San Joaquin Valley, Fresno County’s Department of Public Health announced Tuesday.

Officials say that the wastewater (sewage) is tested to detect traces of infectious diseases, including COVID-19.

The Department of Public Health says residents should be proactive about protecting themselves and their neighbors, especially now, as cases are increasing across the Valley.
