Fresno fans excited for the release of Deadpool & Wolverine

FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – One of the most anticipated movies of 2024 is now in theaters, and a Fresno movie theater is offering showings for 24 hours straight beginning on opening day.

“I think we’ve seen basically the last ten Marvel movies here at the IMAX, right? So this is definitely one of the biggest turnouts,” Marvel fan Mark Matthews said.

Deadpool returns to theaters for the first time in six years, while Wolverine makes its return for the first time in seven years. This led to a lot of hype for the newest Marvel movie.

“When Ryan Reynolds posted that Hugh Jackman was coming back. I was so excited and I was very ready when the tickets came on sale,” Deadpool fan Joseph Malcom said.

“All the cameos. I mean, anybody can show up at any time, any place you do anything. It’s kind of a big build-up to see what they’re going to do this time,” Wolverine fan Robert Gutierrez said.

Regal Fresno River Park knew the demand for Deadpool & Wolverine would be massive, so the decision was made to play the movie for 24 hours straight. That’s something fans agree was a good decision.

“Having it play 24 hours is perfect because like everyone gets a chance to watch it and you don’t go to a spot or a movie and you get terrible seats, or you can’t really see it. You’re able to get good seats whenever you want,” Marvel fan Aidan Pena said.

“The proof is in the pudding. Yeah, like they did. They did it. They did the thing that they set out to do. And this movie, man, it’s been a long time coming. I mean, X-Men started before even the MCU did,” Matthews said.

Beginning at 3 p.m. on July 25, Deadpool 3 began playing in standard, IMAX, 3D, 4DX, and ScreenX. This Regal location is the only theater that offers 4DX in Fresno. In total, the movie will be played 60 times in 24 hours at this location.

“I knew this is going to be a big movie. I knew that, you know, a lot of the fans of Marvel fans, Deadpool and Wolverine fans all together were going to come out and see this movie,” Deadpool fan Steven Garcia said.

Moviegoers will also receive a mini poster for 4DX showing purchases, an exclusive collectible ticket for IMAX showings, or a limited-edition patch for purchasing a ScreenX ticket while supplies last. This, capping off a fun movie experience.

Between July 27-28, Regal Fresno River Park will show Deadpool & Wolverine 81 times.
