Unhoused man found dead in Fresno prompts investigation

FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – An investigation is underway after a man was found dead in Fresno on Thursday, the Fresno Police Department said.

Officers say they responded to the area of Van Ness and Olive Avenues in Fresno on Thursday evening. Upon arrival, they found what appeared to be an unhoused man deceased in a trash can enclosure.

Police say this prompted an investigation, but as of Thursday night, there is no information on whether there is foul play.

The identity of the man has not been released.
