Pedestrian Struck, Driver Flees Scene
The Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office is reporting an incident involving a pedestrian being hit by a pick-up truck and the driver fleeing the scene. On Friday, at about 3:50pm, a caller told dispatch that a man was down on Geottge Avenue NE, in New Philadelphia. Witness statements and video recordings showed a green pick-up truck striking the man and then leaving the area. This incident was near the parking lot of the old Hometown 1 Mobile Home Sales location, with video showing the truck continuing toward East High.
