Crooners hosts 2nd annual comedy festival June 5-8

Crooners Supper Club in Fridley will present its second annual Loons on the Lake Comedy Festival June 5-8.

The show will be headlined by Maureen Langan (Wednesday, June 5 from 7-8:30 p.m.); Jamie Kennedy (Thursday, June 6 from 7-8:30 p.m.); Quinn Dale (Friday, June 7 from 7-8:30 p.m.); Don McMillan (Saturday, June 8 from 6-7:30 p.m.) and Tom Cotter (Saturday, June 8 from 8:30-10 p.m).

Langan is a comedian, broadcaster, “TEDx Talk” speaker, and corporate event host. She was a semifinalist on Season 18 of “America’s Got Talent.” Her performance landed her a standing ovation and four “yeses” from the judges.

Kennedy, seen in “Scream,” “Scream 2,” “Malibu’s Most Wanted,” and “The Jamie Kennedy Experiment,” a self-proclaimed Hollywood wannabe, has stories up his sleeves guaranteed to keep audiences on the edge of their seat.

Dale, originally from Minnesota, has settled into Los Angeles to pursue a career in comedy. His comedy appeals to all age groups and ethnicities. He has appeared on “The Tonight Show” and Showtime, and has worked with Robin Williams, Drew Carey and Norm McDonald.

McMillan is smart, clean and “technically funny!” The Hi-Tech Comedian from American’s Got Talent has also made appearances on “The Tonight Show,” “Air Bud” and “Air Bud 2,” and was a $100,000 winner on Star Search.

Cotter was the first comedian ever to be a finalist on America’s Got Talent. Since his breakout performance in Season 7, he has gained international recognition, selling out venues from Alaska to China. Whether it be comedy, voice-overs, or acting, Cotter gives it everything he’s got: “If laughter is the best medicine, I yearn to be drugged.”

The festival will also feature 40 up-and-coming comedians from across North America and the globe competing for $10,000 prize money
