Jaclyn Wood Elevated to Associate Athletic Trainer
CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M Director of Sports Medicine Luke Kasper has announced the elevation of Jaclyn Wood to Associate Athletic Trainer. "Jaclyn has done a great job at West Texas A&M and we are lucky to have her" said Kasper "Balancing multiple sports along with the billing and insurance side of our department is difficult and she has taken the challenge and excelled."
Rangers struggle with extreme heat at Palo Duro Canyon State Park
PALO DURO CANYON, Texas — The extreme heat at Palo Duro Canyon State Park is taking a toll on even the park rangers. The air temperature in the canyon has reached 104 degrees, with ground temperatures soaring to 131 degrees, according to Texas Parks and Wildlife. When the National Weather Service issues a heat advisory or warning, several trails will be closed from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for safety reasons. The affected trails include Lighthouse, Comanche, GSL (Givens, Spicer, Lowry), and Rock Garden.
