Shrine Ridge Trail near Vail Pass to be closed weekdays this summer
The Shrine Ridge Trail northwest of Vail Pass will be closed on weekdays beginning July 8 through Sept. 8 while crews conduct trail maintenance work. Trail crews from the U.S. Forest Service and Rocky Mountain Youth Corps will be installing culverts along the trail and elevating hiking surfaces to keep water off the trail. The work includes the use of heavy machinery. The weekday closure will help ensure the safety of the public and crew members.
