DENVER (KDVR) — A local nonprofit has been helping veterans meet their perfect match — one that comes in the form of a shelter animal. Clarissa Black, founder of Pets for Vets, said it all began when she went to her local VA with her therapy dog, Bear. GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - We’re turning up the heat again across Western Colorado. Triple-digit heat could bake the Grand Valley on Wednesday and Thursday. The Grand Valley is almost always the hottest part of Colorado’s Western Slope. We’ll be nearing 100 degrees in the Grand Valley on Tuesday. Some of our backyard thermometers may touch the century mark, but most of us will stay just shy. Wednesday is a different story. High temperatures will range from 101 degrees around Grand Junction to 103 degrees around the Redlands to 104 degrees around Fruita. Thursday will still be cooking, but we’ll turn down the heat a degree or two. High temperatures will range from 100 degrees around Grand Junction and Palisade to 101 degrees around Fruita and Mack.

Mountain Recreation to replace Edwards Field House turf in July
Mountain Recreation will begin fully replacing the indoor turf at the Edwards Field House on Monday, July 29. The project is expected to be completed by Aug. 9.
