Academy of Country Music Awards Sets 2025 Date For 60th Anniversary Ceremony

The 60th anniversary ceremony is set for Thursday, May 8, from Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas — the Dallas Cowboys’ world HQ — for a third straight year.

Reba McEntire, whose new NBC comedy Happy’s Place premieres October 18 , returns to host the show for a record 18th time.

“I’m thrilled to be coming back to host the 60th ACM Awards on Prime Video,” McEntire said. “It’s going to be an absolute can’t-miss show, and I can’t wait to see everybody back in Texas.”

The 2022, ACMs was the first major awards show to stream live exclusively for a global audience, and Prime Video again has the exclusive TV rights.

Country music certainly is having a Pop Moment, and with next year’s ACMs covering music released in calendar 2024, it should be an interesting mix. Beyoncé’s album Cowboy Carter , which topped the all-genre Billboard 200 in April, will be eligible, along with America’s current No. 1 single, “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” by Shaboozey. It succeeded the previous six-week Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper, “I Had Some Help” by Post Malone featuring Morgen Wallen. It had the longest run at No. 1 of any song this year and also topped the country chart..

Lainey Wilson was the big winner at the 2024 ACM Awards back in May. After opening the ceremony with a cover of Little Texas’s 1993 hit “God Blessed Texas” and her own “Hang Tight Honey,” she took home three awards including the marquee Entertainer of the Year prize. Wilson also took home the most trophies and was the most-nominated artist at the 2023 ACMs .
