4 Cardinals unfairly snubbed from the All-Star Game
The St. Louis Cardinals' first half has certainly been a bumpy ride, but with the best record in the National League since Mother's Day, just one All-Star representative in Ryan Helsley seems a bit unfair. After Helsley announced he won't be participating in the All-Star Game, fans won't see a single Cardinal take the field in Arlington. At 50-46, they currently own the second Wildcard spot and the fifth-best record in the NL, so how come they only have a single All-Star? Here are four Cardinals players unfairly snubbed from the All-Star Game in 2024.
The Emergence Of Alec Burleson’s Hitting In 2024
Has Alec Burleson’s hitting in the 2024 season cemented him as one of the MLB’s best under 26?. During the St. Louis Cardinals final game before the All Star Break, he took a high, floating changeup from Jameson Taillon and sent it just over the right field wall, trotting the bases for his 17th home run of the season and tying Nolan Gorman for the team lead in that category. Although the Cardinals would go on to lose that game to the Cubs 8-3, Burleson ensured that Cardinals fans got a final reminder of his importance to the team’s offense and the impressiveness of his 2024 campaign.
Scientists unveil ‘time-traveling’ quantum sensor breakthrough
Scientists have demonstrated a new type of quantum sensor that uses quantum entanglement to make measurements that seemingly “travel back in time.” The research, led by Kater Murch from Washington University in St. Louis and collaborators from NIST and the University of Cambridge, was published in Physical Review Letters on June 27, 2024. The process involves entangling two quantum particles, or qubits, in a quantum singlet state where their spins point in opposite directions.
One more player we would like to see the St. Louis Blues sign for 2024-25
NHL free agency always quiets down after Hour 1 on Day 1, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t still someone out there who could help the St. Louis Blues fare better than expected in 2024-25. Talking someone like Joe Pavelski out of retirement would be the ideal scenario here, but he would likely only start skating again if a contender reached out to him.

If you drop into an elementary reading lesson, you might see kids learning about the long U sound, building their vocabulary or practicing how to read aloud without sounding like robots. And if you visit Kansas City Public Schools this fall, you should see all students in the same grade...
These 9 Republican candidates are running for Missouri governor
Missouri's lieutenant governor, secretary of state and a state senator are among the nine Republican candidates squaring off in the Aug. 6 primary. This sparkling wine from Rocheport's Les Bourgeois Vineyards won best in class
Mid-Missouri's favorite native vineyard earned statewide honors at the recent Missouri Wine Competition. Rocheport's Les Bourgeois Vineyards won best of class in the sparkling wine category for its Brut. As one of 11 best of class awardees, Les Bourgeois qualified for the highest honor — the Governor's Cup — which ultimately went to Hermann-based Stone...
Potentially Severe Mosquito-borne Illness Confirmed in Illinois
It was simply a matter of time. With the number of mosquitos that seem to take over Illinois and Missouri during the summertime, the fact that a potentially severe mosquito-borne illness is now confirmed in the area should not come as a surprise. The Illinois Department of Public Health said...
