2 Local Fire Departments Awarded Funding for Equipment, Training and Supplies
UTICA, N.Y. -- A few upstate fire departments in New York will soon receive a total of $665,310.24 in federal funding. The funding, which was announced by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, will support nine fire departments by providing protective gear, training and supplies for emergency personnel.

One dead in motorcycle crash
WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) - One person was killed Friday afternoon in a motorcycle crash on county route 49, east of Watertown. State police said they expected a portion of 49 between county route 126 and Miser Road to remain closed for several hours, while an accident reconstruction team investigates what happened.
