Sea Turtle Nest Vandalized In Orange Beach
A sea turtle nest was vandalized on Orange Beach on July 17th and 18th. The incident left one hatchling dead and several eggs broken, although most of the nest remained intact. The viability of the remaining eggs is uncertain. This act has prompted the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources to install cameras to monitor the nest and deter further incidents.

Gulf Coast Ethnic & Heritage Jazz Festival Coming Up
The Gulf Coast Ethnic & Heritage Jazz Festival is taking place on July 25-28 in Mobile. The festival begins with an evening of poetry at Central Presbyterian Church on July 25 at 6 p.m. Poetry contest winners will be announced, and admission is $10. The next day, at 7 p.m. at the Via! Center, a Jazz Gala featuring the Marcus Johnson Summer Jazz Camp Orchestra, the Andrew Ayers Trio and local musicians will be held. Admission is $35. On July 27, beginning at 6 p.m. at Saenger Theatre Mobile, Delfeayo Marsalis and the Uptown Jazz Orchestra and Gino Rosaria will perform. Tickets start at $29.50. The final day will take place at The Elks Lodge at 4 p.m. and feature The Excelsior Band, Bay Carnival and The Jukebox Brass Band. Admission is free.

This is a 4,480-ft2 industrial building featuring office, showroom and warehouse space. Excel Beach Service is a locally owned and operated provider of beach and bonfire experiences along the Gulf Shores, Perdido Key, 30A and Destin coastlines. It offers a range of services including beach chair, umbrella and side table rentals, as well as paddleboard rentals and beach bonfire setups.

Mobile Infirmary says that achieving Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Certification sets the highest standard for delivering care in the healthcare industry.

Island Life Personalized Medicine, a direct primary care clinic, is now open in Gulf Shores and will hold a grand opening ceremony on August 6. Owner Maggie Wallace’s goal is to bring personalized medicine with a beach-vibe family atmosphere. Wallace is known in the area for her high-quality care, chronic health management, weight loss/lifestyle management, holistic approach and patient advocacy, according to a press release. Direct primary care is a membership-based primary care model similar to a gym membership, and the practice does not take insurance. Membership pre-enrollment is available.
