New mocktail bar brings active night life to downtown Rexburg
REXBURG – Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name … or at least the type of environment you enjoy hanging out in. The latter is the focus of a new mocktail bar at 32 College Avenue in Rexburg called Fizz Rizz. The non-alcoholic bar opened July 4 and offers daiquiris, pina coladas, margaritas, flavored sodas and more. It also has pool tables and arcade games. A space to have dances and live performances is in the works.

High in IF to around 88. 40% chance of storms around and calming with more smoke tomorrow and increased chances of storms Saturday 60% and even cooler. 70's to near 80 in the mountains and low 80's in the valley. Summer is not over yet though. We will return to the 90's by mid week and even closing in on 100 again by next Thursday.

Aubrey Wells, Bonners Ferry High School Class of 2024 alumni, has graduated from Marine boot camp. Wells left Bonners Ferry in March 2024 as a civilian and graduated from Marine boot camp on June 7, as a private in the United States Marine Corps. Prosecutor threat case advances to district court
BONNERS FERRY — The case of a local woman charged with threatening the Bonners Ferry city prosecutor has advanced to district court. JaMisha Nevarez, 47, locally known as Misha Nuamann-Davis, formerly the CEO at the Senior Hospital Center, is facing a felony charge for alleged threats against the city prosecutor, Andrakay Pluid.

BLACKFOOT — Firefighters extinguished a brush fire that ignited along Interstate 15 south of Blackfoot on Wednesday. Malheur Lumber Company to halt operations after 41 years
JOHN DAY – Malheur Lumber Company, the last remaining commercial sawmill in John Day, has announced it will close down its operations. In their closing letter, the company cited the “lack of a willful/drug free workforce, lack of housing to allow to recruit from outside the area, market conditions of lumber over the last couple of years, cost of manufacturing (due to inflation) and low/inconsistent production (due to lack of employees) and continuing layering of governmental regulations upon small business in Oregon” as being primary factors for the closure.
