Parking near Cedar Drive will be prohibited; spaces to be created behind fire station facility
Drivers pulling out of Cedar Drive onto Route 302 in West Bridgton will no longer find their vision of oncoming traffic hampered due to parked boat trailers and vehicles. A revised Traffic Ordinance, approved by the Bridgton Select Board, will enable the Maine Department of Transportation to post “No Parking” signs along the stretch near Cedar Drive toward the busy Moose Pond boat launch area. Windham starts rolling out new recycling carts
The Town of Windham has started to roll out new recycling carts for residents to increase the volume of single-stream collection efforts. Town officials say with these new larger recycling carts, residents will be able to place all recyclable items directly into their recycling container. The 64-gallon carts along with new trash carts have begun arriving at residents’ homes this week and will continue until all pick-up locations are covered.

Windham Town Clerk job to remain an elected position
For the foreseeable future, the Windham Town Clerk job will remain an elected position. appointed by town councilors. During the Windham Town Council meeting on Aug. 20, comments were received from the public and a motion was discussed by councilors to place a referendum on General Election ballot for Nov. 5 to change the town clerk position from elected to an appointed position by town councilors. A portion of the proposed referendum would have included language to amend the Windham Town Charter to grant councilors the ability to appoint and remove the Town Clerk on a vote of five members and to remove the Town Clerk position from provisions related to elected officials, essentially making the position by appointment of the council.
