GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY RACE SCHEDULE MOVES INTO JULY WITH ACTION FILLED EVENTS
BECHTELSVILLE, PA. – Following a busy and action-filled month of June, Grandview Speedway is all set to move into an equally busy and exciting month of July racing schedule. The month begins with a Thunder on the Hill Racing Series event on Tuesday, July 2 with a visit by the powerful 410 Sprint Cars of the Pennsylvania Posse in the 34th running of PA Sprint Car Speed Week. The Speed Week event at Grandview is titled the Hodnett Cup and salutes the late driver who is one of the all-time winningest 410 Sprint drivers in Grandview history.

Ground to be broken on new Chandler fire station
HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — The Chandler Fire Department begins a new chapter Tuesday. Ground will be broken to build a new facility to better serve the town and its residents. According to a report in the Evansville Courier and Press, Evansville school board member Amy Word was found guilty on Friday of maintaining a common nuisance after a three-day trial. The verdict was confirmed by the Vanderburgh County Prosecutor’s Office spokesperson, Ellora Daily, shortly before 12:30 p.m. The trial took place in Sullivan County due to significant media coverage in Evansville.

Redevelopment Commission Hears Updates on Jasper Municipal Pool Project
The Jasper Redevelopment Commission’s meeting on Tuesday morning provided new updates on the municipal pool project’s progress. A claim from Hafer Associates for approximately $9500 was approved by the Commission for services related to the construction of Jasper’s new outdoor pool. The total contract with Hafer is for $469,000 with $12,000 in reimbursable expenses. So far, just under $400,000 has been utilized. The Commission heard that Hafer anticipates needing to use the full contract amount, and has asked for addendum to be added for services provided for a land survey, so the total is expected to increase.

It’s been an all-natural grass and dirt field, since it’s inception, but now, they are tearing up that surface and replacing it with a brand-new, all-turf field.
