FULTON, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — On June 22, an investigation by the Fulton Police Department began as they looked into an inappropriate relationship between a 39-year-old man and an 11-year-old girl.

Police identified a suspect who has now been named as 39-year-old Christopher Rico, of Middletown, New York.

According to Fulton Police, Rico subjected the 11-year-old to several instances of sexual contact, some of which he recorded on his cell phone for months.

When Rico heard of the initial report made to police he fled the area to Middletown, his home.

Following the evidence found and an investigation, a warrant was put out for Rico’s arrest. He was taken into custody on July 5 by the Middletown Police Department.

He was returned to Oswego County by Fulton Police after his arrest.

    Rico is being charged with:

    • 2 counts of Use of a child in a sexual performance – Class C Felony
    • 2 counts of Promoting a sexual performance of a child – Class D Felony
    • 6 counts of Sexual abuse 1st Degree – Class D Felony
    • 7 counts of Endangering the welfare of a child – Class A Misdemeanor

Rico was arraigned in Oswego County CAP Court on July 6.

This investigation is still active and further charges may be forthcoming. Anyone who may have further information regarding this case is asked to contact Sgt. Lucas Hollenbeck at (315) 592-3426.
