Memorial at Bath School Museum receiving fresh coat of paint
CLINTON COUNTY, Mich. (WILX) - A memorial at the Bath School Museum is getting a fresh makeover. The school’s cupola has sat on the museum’s grounds for over 100 years. The cupola is a special symbol. It was on top of the Bath Consolidated School when it opened in 1922 and survived the Bath School disaster in 1927, when the school was bombed, killing 45 people. The school was rebuilt, and the cupola remained on top of the school for another 15 years. Since the 1970s, it’s been at the James Couzens Memorial Park, and the museum is hoping to get a new building at the park to house the cupola.
