Gadsden City's Zyan Gibson has burst onto the recruiting scene last spring and this summer, garnering offers from some of the top schools in the country.

The Class of 2026 defensive back has an offer sheet headlined by SEC and in-state giants Alabama and Auburn. Tennessee, Texas A&M, Miami, Georgia, LSU, defending champions Michigan and other power conference offers have joined the list. He has earned a four-star rating from 247 Sports and is the third ranked cornerback in the class.

"Its been a long process, I'm just enjoying the process. I'm just blessed and its fun," Gibson told the Gadsden Times.

Gibson gave no official timeline for his recruitment, but wants to be close to a decision before his senior year. This would give him about a year to go through the rest of the process. Between the flurry of offers, the school year and going to camps, he hasn't had time to start narrowing down the offers.

But he has plans to do that soon.

With guys like Dre Kirkpatrick Sr., Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. and Anthony Swain and more there's a long history of defensive backs at Gadsden City. Gibson already shares a similar trait with Kirkpatrick Sr. as they both got their first offers when a coach came by to see an older teammate. Even with all the defensive back history for the Titans, Gibson separates himself in one special way for coach Ali Smith, who has been around for all 17 Titan football seasons. Gibson ran a 10.63, 100-meter dash during the AHSAA Track and Field outdoor championships.

"Speed, he's an unbelievable runner. His length is about a few others who have come through here. His straight line speed things like that. He's still got a lot to work on but he's speed right now separates him," Smith said.
