WARD 2 COUNCIL VACANCY
Coudersport Borough Council wishes to announce that there is a vacancy on council due to a residency change. This vacancy is in Ward 2 and must be filled with a resident of that ward. Interested parties must be a registered voter and have resided within Ward 2 for at least one year. Any Ward 2 resident that would be interested in filling that vacancy, please submit a resume/letter of interest to the Borough office by July 31, 2024 and an interview with the Borough Council will be scheduled.
Wellsboro Comic Con returns as one-day, free event
The Wellsboro Comic Con is returning on Saturday, Aug. 10, and has changed in its third year as a town-wide event in 2024. The Wellsboro Comic Con has moved from a three-day, ticketed event to a one-day free event in its newest rendition of the event, but will still pack a similar punch with more than 100 vendors and artists.
Jackson Township man arrested in attempted homicide shooting
JACKSON TOWNSHIP - A 69-year-old man was arrested by state police at Mansfield after he allegedly shot his neighbor Thursday afternoon. Michael Eugene Stickler, of East Lawrence Road, was arrested after police say he shot another man at least one time as he worked in his yard Thursday around 4:25 p.m.

CLEARFIELD — Lawrence Township Supervisors discussed a contract for information technology services at its meeting Tuesday night. First Food Fun Friday held in Coudersport
COUDERSPORT — Music and sirens filled the courtyard square here on July 12 as the Chamber of Commerce held its first Food Fun Friday. “We decided to try and bring some life to the community. With the reorganized new board, we are reinventing ourselves and want people to come out and enjoy being a part of Coudersport,” said Shelley Butler, who is on the committee that developed the event for the Chamber.
Wellsboro District Court
The following individuals are scheduled to appear in Wellsboro District Court, judge Robert Repard presiding. Lehman Brown, 49, of Unityville has been charged with terroristic threats, defiant trespass, criminal trespass, harassment, criminal mischief and damage to property. On July 10 officers were dispatched to Deisinger Road, Liberty Township for a report of trespass and disturbance. The victim said that Brown came to their house, drove a truck through the yard, banged on the door and made death threats. Damage to the yard was approximately $300. Brown left before police arrived.

Mansfield District Court
The following individuals will appear in Mansfield District Court, judge Tiffany Cummings presiding. Kenneth S. Odell, 37, of Mansfield has been charged with criminal mischief-damage property and use-possession drug paraphernalia. On June 22 officers were dispatched to a residence on Route 6, Richmond Township for a disturbance. Odell told police that he was depressed and off his medications. He had smashed his hand through glass and said he didn’t want to live. During a search police found baggies and a white powdery substance. Odell had threatened his mother that he would run into traffic and his mother said she thought he would harm someone. No preliminary hearing date was scheduled.

Harrison Valley, Pa. — Betty M. Metcalf, 92, of Harrison Valley, Pa. died Monday, July 8, 2024 in her home. Born March 17, 1932 in Harrison Township, she was the daughter of Ivan L. and Myra I. Outman Kibbe. On March 25, 1950 in Harrison Valley, she married Fred H. Metcalf, who predeceased her on Aug. 10, 2007.
