What is Florida football paying to Samford, UCF for games at The Swamp this season

Florida football will play Samford $525,000 and UCF $800,000 for their appearances at The Swamp, per terms of game contacts obtained by the USA TODAY Network through an open records request.

Samford will receive an allotment of 2,000 tickets for the game, which will kick off under the lights at 7 p.m. on Sept. 7 (SEC Network Plus, ESPN Plus).

The Florida Gators are 1-0 all-time against Samford, an FCS school from Birmingham, Ala. The last time the two teams met, Florida won a wild 70-52 shootout against the Bulldogs on Nov. 13, 2021, at The Swamp.

Per terms of the UCF deal, Florida will pay the school $800,000 for its game at The Swamp on Oct. 5. UCF will receive an allotment of 5,000 tickets for the game.

The three-game series will continue with a game on Sept. 14, 2030, at UCF, in which UCF will pay Florida $250,000 for its trip to FBC Mortgage Stadium. The series will conclude on Sept. 3, 2033, in which Florida will pay UCF $200,000 for its appearance in The Swamp.

No fees will be exchanged for Florida's home-and-home series with Miami, which begins Aug. 31 at The Swamp (3:30 p.m.). Miami will receive an allotment of 3,000 tickets for the game. The return game is scheduled for Sept. 20, 2025, at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.

There is a $3 million penalty for breach of contract by either side in the Florida-Miami series. However, that penalty would reduce to $500,000 if either conference would require its teams to play 10 conference games. In addition, the fee would be revoked for acts of God, such as hurricanes or other weather-related issues.
