In-state, four-star LB enjoys Florida's Grill in the Ville

Seminole Ridge (Loxahatchee, Florida) linebacker Ty Jackson is among the best linebackers in the 2025 recruiting class, and Florida is trying to keep him from going anywhere other than the state’s flagship program.
The latest step in the Gators’ recruiting effort was hosting Jackson on a visit for the team’s Grill in the Ville cookout to close out the summer period. Fall brings camp, school and a recruiting dead period.
“Today was mainly family-oriented,” Jackson said to Swamp247. “Just getting everyone, all the potential recruits back on campus, and just having games. Getting around the coaches and the players. Played games, did a scavenger hunt with the coaches. Just getting a bond with them.”
The rain didn’t spoil that kind of old-fashioned fun, and quality time is always good for a team trying to convince a player that their home is indeed his. Jackson said that “seeing the other side” at events like this allows him to make an informed decision.
Defensive coordinator Austin Armstrong got to spend time with Jackson. He and co-defensive coordinator/inside linebackers coach Ron Robert are Jackson’s main points of contact at Florida.
His next visit should come at the end of August when Florida hosts Miami in the season opener.
Recruiting Summary
Jackson is a consensus four-star recruit, ranked the highest by On3 at No. 25 overall in the class of 2025. In fact, On3’s standalone rankings consider him the top linebacker in the nation.
However, the On3 industry ranking — which considers all four major recruiting services — puts him at No. 82 nationally and No. 7 among linebackers, while the 247Sports composite has him just outside the top 100 at Nos. 109 and 14, respectively.
The Alabama Crimson Tide leads the On3 recruiting prediction machine with 25.2% odds of landing Jackson, but Florida (18.4%), Georgia (15.8%) and Penn State (10.6%) are all in the hunt too.
