New RPM Pick: Top-100 flip target projected to Florida

On Friday, Gators Online submitted an On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine pick for the Florida Gators.

It’s for 2026 Under Armour All-American linebacker Izayia Williams . The Leesburg (Fla.) Tavares standout has been committed to Syracuse since April 15, while the likes of Florida, Miami, Florida State, USC and Michigan have offered as well.

According to the On300 rankings, Williams is the No. 41 prospect and No. 3 linebacker in his class.

Why I’m predicting Florida to land Izayia Williams

For several months now, Williams has told Gators Online that Florida has the best shot at flipping him. That was reiterated again on Thursday and exactly a week after his latest experience in Gainesville.

That is largely due to the Gators being Williams’ childhood-favorite program. That love for the SEC school is still very strong, with the defender saying this week he “grew up a Florida Gator.” He also added that his commitment to Syracuse is currently “50/50,” so there is optimism in Gainesville right now.

There is part of me that feels like I’m knocking on Syracuse, as we recently predicted 4-star defensive back Demetres Samuel to flip as well. That happened on Thursday, but it’s just the reality with early, out-of-state commitments.

Also, Williams boasts a strong offer sheet and is one of the very best in his class. Flying to Syracuse isn’t the shortest trip either, so with proximity favoring Florida and others, I would be very surprised if that commitment stayed intact.

Going forward, Williams plans on attending Florida’s season opener against Miami. That strong level of familiarity definitely plays a factor, but linebackers coaches Ron Roberts and Cannon Gibbs are doing their job here. Williams’ relationship with them is good as it gets.

It’s early in the process, but the Gators are generating the most momentum with the 6-foot-1, 215-pound linebacker. The pieces are in place for a future flip.

    Stay tuned to Gators Online.
