BRADENTON, FL. — It has been an eventful past few weeks for 2026 4-star cornerback Dominick Kelly , who is now attending powerhouse IMG Academy .

Not only that, but a switch was made in his recruitment as well. That was due to him flipping from USC to Georgia on July 29; however, as a rising junior, additional schools have no plans to take a step back.

One of them is the University of Florida , which offered a scholarship last December.

According to the On3 Industry Ranking , a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Kelly is the No. 162 prospect and No. 14 cornerback in his class.

“It’s a historical program. They’ve had a lot of success in the past,” Kelly said of UF when speaking with Gators Online at IMG Academy Media Day. “They have the resources there to become immediately competitive again. I think they just have a few things they need to work out and they’ll definitely be successful in the near future with how they are recruiting.”

Kelly, a Tampa native, primarily speaks with secondary coach Will Harris . He has never been to Gainesville to visit the Florida Gators, but there is mutual respect from afar.

“We definitely speak enough to where we have gotten to know each other,” said Kelly. “He’s a great guy, great coach. I know I have nothing but great expectations for Florida and what they’re going to do with that secondary, the amount of talent they have, and there are a lot of guys from Tampa.”

Flipping Dominick Kelly a second time will be difficult

For now though, the blue-chip defender is all in with the Bulldogs, viewing them as the total package for a top prospect like himself.

“Just the relationships with coach Donte (Williams) and coach T-Rob (Travaris Robinson) ,” Kelly said of his commitment. “They’re top developers with DBs every year and Georgia has a top defense. The ability to play in that, play in the SEC and compete for national championships (stands out).

“On top of that, something people don’t realize is how underrated of an education Georgia has. That’s something very important to me. The combination of those factors definitely set it over the top for me.”

As of now, Kelly doesn’t have any visits scheduled for the fall. That is largely due to IMG’s travel schedule. As for Florida’s season opener against Miami, the DB says him attending the game is not likely.
