MOWIT volunteers lend hand at Baker transitional house for women
St. Louis – Volunteers with Missouri Women in Trades (MOWIT) helped demo and rebuild a plumbing stack at one of the Baker House’s transitional homes for women on June 29 and 30. A group of female Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 562 members led the project. The house, located in south St. Louis City, is owned by Keyway Center for Diversion and Reentry, which provides housing and wrap-around services for women reentering the St. Louis community from jail or prison. KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - An investigation is underway after a body was found floating in the Missouri River. A spokesperson for the Kansas City Fire Department said KCFD was called to the Missouri River at 6:20 p.m. Monday after receiving a call about a body floating in the river. When firefighters arrived at the riverfront boat ramp KCFD “quickly spotted” the body.
