    Montgomery County business owner giving back to help people live healthier lives

    GAITHERSBURG, Md. ( DC News Now ) — Musu Wheeler is the owner of Integrative Health Recreation in Gaithersburg, a business she started five years ago focusing on the importance of health and wellness.

    Wheeler is a physiologist and she said it’s important to promote the importance of health and wellness, especially in underserved communities.

    “We talk about the importance of prevention,” Wheeler said. “It is important to also help people dealing with chronic illnesses and chronic pain.”

    Wheeler provides a wide range of services and information to help people live healthier. She holds awareness and cooking classes, so people make better decisions across the board.

    “Information is so important,” she said. “If someone is diabetic, we make sure they learn food choices go beyond not eating rice or pasta.”

    Wheeler also works with younger people. She said she just finished hosting her first internship program and she is looking forward to exposing more students to the health and wellness profession.
