GALENA, Mo. — The LJ Jenkins Bullriding Tour is stopping by Galena to honor Cayson Hall, the young bull rider who nearly died when a bull’s horn hit him in the neck.

The Cayson Hall Benefit Bull Blast event will take place tonight at 8 p.m. at the Stone County Event Center Arena.

Cayson Hall made the news earlier this year in March when he flipped over the bull he was riding and the bull’s horn hit him in the neck. It wasn’t a puncture wound but rather a nearly fatal blunt force hit.

Dayton Lola is a friend of Cayson’s who was invited out to ride tonight. He was one of the people who saw Cayson’s accident in person.

“It was pretty rough. kinda crazy, he just got hung up in just a freak accident,” Lola said. “He is lucky he is still alive. Glad to keep traveling with him.”

Since then Hall has been recovering from his injuries.

Tonight, Cayson walks happily and healthily around tonight’s benefit. His stepmom Ashlee Hall tells me that the support they have received is more than they could have ever hoped for.

“It’s been incredible. We have had a lot of people really reach out an help,” Hall said. “We’ve just had a lot of people really rally together and try to help donate and help with those expenses.”
