Austin Hale announced as next women’s tennis head coach
Missouri State University announced on Aug. 21 that Austin Hale will take over as head coach of women’s tennis following the departure of former head coach Ellie Burger. Hale becomes the program’s 12th head coach in its 65-year history. The position became vacant after it was announced on July 23 that Burger was moving on from MSU to become fellow-Missouri Valley Conference school Belmont University’s women’s tennis head coach.

Nevada man sentenced to 20 years for meth distribution conspiracy
A Nevada, Missouri, man has been sentenced in federal court for his role in leading a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. Trenton D. De Soto to buy four more homes to be demolished for flood prevention
The city of De Soto will soon purchase and demolish four flood-prone homes, using funds from the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program.
