    Galion man pleads guilty to drug trafficking charges, gets four years in prison

    A Galion man who was the subject of a narcotics investigation is heading to prison after a change of plea hearing in Crawford County Common Pleas Court on drug-related charges.

    Terry L. Thoman, 58, pleaded guilty to two counts of trafficking in drugs, both third-degree felonies, and was sentenced to two years in prison on each of the charges. The sentences are to be served consecutively for a total of four years in prison.

    Thoman was arrested when his residence, 1301 Harding Way East, was searched by the Galion Police Department, METRICH and the Crawford County Special Response Team during the early morning hours of May 8. Officers seized multiple firearms, narcotics and paraphernalia from the property.

    Thoman also was ordered to pay court costs and to forfeit drug-related property to the Galion Police Department, including a 12-guage shotgun, ammunition and $135 in cash as well as $33.75 to the Crawford County Prosecutor’s Office.

    Thoman will receive credit fort 66 days he already served in jail. He was represented by Galion attorney Madison Garverick.
