    Smoke may linger in area after crews contain fire at debris pile near Galivants Ferry

    HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — Smoke may remain in the area of McCracken Road and Lauren Renee Court near Galivants Ferry because of a fire at a large debris pile, according to Horry County Fire Rescue .

    HCFR was called to the area at 6:27 a.m. Friday. The fire is contained, but crews are still taking the pile apart to try to fully extinguish the fire. As a result, smoke may be visible for an extended period of time.
