Planning commission recommends Atlantic Beach high rise for approval
The Black Pearl condotel is one step closer to becoming a reality. The town of Atlantic Beach planning commission recommended approval of a land management ordinance amendment to allow the project to be 18 stories and to allow other variances on Thursday, July 25. The project will now go in front of town council for a second reading after it was approved on first reading in June. Charles Morant of the development team said after the meeting that he is feeling hopeful that the project will be approved by town council.

Columbia, SC (WOLO) — The Columbia Police Department is hoping you can help them locate a man they say is considered armed and dangerous and on the loose. According to authorities 52 year old Lurekus Leonard Davis is wanted in connection to a shooting that took place earlier today in the 6200 block of Garners Ferry Road. Police say Davis is accused of shooting into a car with his family members inside as well as children as it traveled down a main lower Richland thoroughfare.

A Lumberton man who has dedicated his life to cutting soldiers' hair at Fort Liberty is being recognized by the National Barber Hall of Fame this fall.Over the course of almost 60 years, Travis Bell said he's given haircuts to about 16,000 soldiers at Fort Liberty.
