Jason McCormick sentenced to over 100 years in Gallia County, Ohio, on 28 counts of rape
GALLIPOLIS, Ohio (WV News) — Following a five-day jury trial last month, guilty verdicts were returned for all 28 counts of rape, felonies of the first degree, against Jason McCormick of Oak Hill. McCormick faced 3-11 years in prison on each of the 28 counts for a maximum possible sentence of 308 years in prison.

Fireworks in Gallipolis canceled
GALLIPOLIS, Ohio (WV News) - The Gallia County Chamber of Commerce has announced that tonight's fireworks at River Rec have been canceled. "We are disappointed to announce that unfortunately, due to the extended weather forecast for today, the fireworks company contracted for this evening has made the decision to cancel the fireworks for tonight. There will be no rescheduled date. Entertainment for this evening will continue as planned and concessions will be open. Updates regarding the parade will be announced at 2:00 pm. We look forward to seeing everyone in the City Park," the Chamber said in a statement.
