GUYAN TOWNSHIP, Ohio (TCN) -- Deputies arrested a woman over the weekend after she allegedly forced her children to stay in a hot bath, causing seizures and injuries.

According to the Gallia County Sheriff’s Office , on the evening of Thursday, June 6, emergency medical personnel responded to a home.

A complaint reviewed by WSAZ-TV says officials initially received a report of a child having a seizure. At the scene, deputies found a 5-year-old girl with burns to a significant portion of her body, and she was transported to a hospital.

Investigators allege 22-year-old Malynda Harrison caused the victim’s injuries. According to WSAZ, Harrison told detectives she put two children, ages 5 and 4, in a bathtub with hot water and wouldn’t allow them to get out.

Harrison allegedly physically restrained the victims in the tub and didn’t adjust the water temperature. As a result, one child reportedly suffered seizures and second-degree burns, and the other experienced first- and second-degree burns.

Detectives arrested Harrison on June 9, and she was booked in the Gallia County Jail for child endangerment.
