State audit of Bogalusa alleges misspent ARPA funds and lack of council oversight
BOGALUSA, La. (WVUE) - A new Louisiana Legislative Auditor report alleges the City of Bogalusa might have violated the state constitution, state law and its own charter. The 70-page report alleges a series of violations, including misspent American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds, a lack of city council oversight of government spending and failing to adhere to state finance law.

Louisiana man accused in Tangipahoa Parish murders, kidnappings enters plea; state seeking death penalty
A Louisiana man who has been indicted federally and separately in two states in connection with the murder of a Loranger mother and her child entered a plea in court Monday. Daniel Callihan was in court Monday in Tangipahoa Parish for an arraignment hearing for the criminal case he is facing in the parish. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Convicted felon arrested after drugs were found in his car during traffic stop
BOURG— Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's deputies found several illegal drugs in a Houma man's car after they pulled him over Sunday night. Deputies say they saw Shawn David Jennies, 37, driving recklessly along Highway 24 in Bourg. Once they approached his car, deputies recognized Jennies from his previous arrests. They arrested him after Jennies made several suspicious movements when he got out of his car.
